Plasma Lift

A minimally invasive treatment that uses a plasma arc to heat tiny columns of the skin. This stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin fibres that leads to tightening and lifting of treated skin.

Indications

– Non-surgical eyelid lift

– Acne Scarring

– Skin tightening and lifting

– Pigmentation spots

– Small veins

– Stretch marks

– Removal of warts and skin tags

What to expect during the treatment

It is non-invasive and minimally painful as local anaesthesia is used prior to the procedure. A plasma discharge or ‘spark’ is generated between the tip of the device and the skin to heat tiny columns of the skin. As the plasma flash comes into contact with the skin, it leaves a tiny dot on the skin’s surface, referred to as “carbon crusts”. They are quite small and will usually fall off within 3-7 days after treatment, revealing new pink skin beneath. The entire procedure lasts approximately 30-60 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area.

What is the recovery like?

Most patients will notice some swelling, tenderness and bruising for about 3-5 days post-treatment, particularly around the eyelids as they are most sensitive. After that period, most patients will notice that the majority of the swelling has gone down. The deeper layers of the skin will still be healing for up to 8 weeks while collagen and elastin fibres are replenishing.

How fast will I see results?

The deepest layers of the skin continue to heal over a 6-8 week period. Results will improve over time, with most patients seeing their best results around 4 weeks post-treatment.

How many treatments are needed for skin tightening?

Most patients will see significant results after one treatment, depending on skin quality.  If additional treatments are required, it will be done after 8 weeks.
